Accomodations

c-jdAccomodations
Groups visiting for the USA stay in local hotels. We have used one in particular for many years, and it has served us well.

Motel Olivia has flushing toilets, hot showers, in room T.V.’s and air conditioners. It is not fancy, but it is clean and safe. We have never had any problems with theft or vandalism.

The management works with us, and likes us a lot, since we bring them a lot of business.

Most of the rooms have two queen sized beds. Some rooms have three queen sized beds, which is nice for families. The bedding is changed daily. It is wise to bring your own bath towels.

Motel Olivia is right on the highway coming into town, located on the left, just as you enter Vizcaino. It has proven to be a safe and comfortable place for us to stay.

La Posada
La Posada does not yet have dorms, but some groups are fine sleeping on cots in our main building. We do have a full service kitchen, and bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers.

Staying onsite is a great way to keep the costs down. Groups are asked to bring their own paper plates and cups, as well as food. Donations to cover electricity and water are greatly appreciated.

Food
Visiting groups can choose to cover their meals a few ways.

Eating Out- Motel Olivia has a restaurant that has very good food. There is also a local diner and a late night hot dog stand that all the guys love. Bacon wrapped hot dogs serve with jalapenos. Watch out!  There are also multiple taco stands in town, many of them with good standards for health and hygiene.

Preparing Meals- Groups can prepare their own meals if desired. Cooking can be done at Pastor Tacho’s home on an outdoor stove, or out at our property (the ranchito), on an outdoor stove, where Gary & Keri live. Sandwiches can be made and taken out for day trips. This is a good way to keep costs down. Local markets have a good variety of foodstuffs, and the food is good quality.
