History & Future
A Brief History… and Looking Forward
Cornerstone’s first trip to the region was in July, 2003. We were introduced to the area by Victor Mayoral, the director of La Posada in Rosarito Beach, which was an outreach of Calvary Chapel of Montebello, CA.
Land was purchased the following year, with the hopes of building a missions base for visiting groups to use. The ministry is patterned after the ministry style of La Posada in Rosarito Beach. Local nationals as well as American missionaries who live in Vizcaino are able to assist visiting groups to different areas of need in the region.
Summer trips have continued to the present, as well as smaller construction trips, and a yearly Church Leadership Conference, held for Mexican Nationals.
Long Range Goals
1. Build a missions base which will accommodate visiting groups.
2. Help facilitate ministry for visiting missions groups.
3. Have a facility that can be used for the local community
4. Medical outreach
5. Possible Christian school
6. Recreation, i.e. basketball courts, soccer courts, etc.
7. Build a church and housing for local ministers.
8. Conference center for local ministries.
